Description
Pujya Pitaji Maharaj
Pujya Pitaji Maharaj was born on October 2, 1916, in an affluent family in Chinot Mandi, Jhang Zill, now in Pakistan. Orphaned at the tender age of 10, he was raised by his grandfather, who not only nurtured him but also taught him the intricacies of business and money management. Little did anyone know that this young boy, who had lost his father early in life, would grow up to be a guiding light and a father figure to millions.
In 1947, during the partition, the Vij family left Pakistan and were allotted land in Gohana by the government in exchange for what they had left behind. Through the tumultuous days of partition and resettlement, Pujya Pitaji never wavered in his faith. He remained deeply connected to his Guru, continuing his spiritual practices, including Jaap (chanting) and Seva (selfless service), and never lost sight of his spiritual goals.
Pujya Maaji beautifully describes Pitaji’s way of life, saying, “Through his actions, Pujya Pitaji has shown me how to live. There is no gap between what he says and what he does. He never worries, never gets angry, and treats everyone with the utmost love and respect, whether in the family or in society. He is the ideal father, brother, father-in-law, neighbor, and citizen.”
In Satsang, Pitaji takes on a spiritual aura, yet his humility and generosity always shine through. He is ever ready to help others, ensuring that everyone around him is cared for, even down to the smallest details like ensuring the driver has food and rest. For him, every person is like his own son. While some say that Pujya Pitaji is the Guru of the rich, he is often seen visiting the homes of the less fortunate for Path and Jaap, reflecting his deep connection with the simple people of Gohana. At the farm, he sits for hours on his charpai, engaging in heartfelt conversations, embodying different roles with grace—at home, he is a father; on the farm, a farmer; on the road, an ordinary person; and on the pulpit, a Guru.
Gohana: Punya Bhoomi
In 1959, when Swamiji Maharaj visited Gohana, he blessed Pitaji and declared Gohana as a “Punya Bhoomi” (sacred land). This was even before Ram Sharnam had been established. Today, Gohana stands as a true Punya Bhoomi, attracting millions of devotees from across India and the world, seeking refuge from life’s turmoil and finding peace, faith, and confidence in this sacred place.
The Legacy of Pujya Maaji and Pujya Krishan ji Maharaj
Pujya Pitaji often acknowledges the invaluable contributions of Pujya Maaji and Pujya Krishan ji Maharaj. He says, “Ever since Krishan ji returned from college and Rekhaji joined our home, they have been a tremendous help. They have taken the works of Satsang to heights I could never have imagined. The vast expanse of the Gohana Ashram is the result of their deep understanding, meditative efforts, service, and humility.”
Naturopathy and Yoga: A Journey to Holistic Health
At the heart of their teachings lies the belief in the profound connection between humans and nature. Naturopathy reminds us that our bodies are composed of the five elements—Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether—which are effectively harnessed to revitalize the body and strengthen the immune system against environmental diseases. Yoga, on the other hand, empowers us to heal our minds and bodies, purging negative energies and toxins while enhancing positive energies.
Naturopathy, combined with Yoga, employs ancient natural cures backed by modern medical diagnostics to offer a holistic approach to disease management. The diet prescribed by the doctors is specific to each ailment, ensuring that food serves as medicine rather than merely filling the stomach. This concept is essential for new patients to understand and embrace.
As you embark on this journey towards optimal health, it’s crucial to adhere to the prescribed treatments, diet, and exercises, not just during the program but also after returning to daily life. Achieving balance in a controlled environment is one thing, but maintaining it in real life is the true challenge. Leave with a strong will and the determination to maintain the balance and harmony you’ve achieved.
